Limits & Beyond
First Overseas Edition
Sri Lanka
Project completed
16th Aug 2025 to 28th Aug 2025
On August 15, 2025, India’s 79th Independence Day, I will begin the first overseas chapter of Limits & Beyond – Pedal Bike Expedition in Sri Lanka. This will be a complete circumnavigation of the island nation on bicycle, covering diverse landscapes, cultures, and terrain.
The Route Plan
The journey starts from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport, Sri Lanka. Flying in from Ahmedabad, I will set off with my co-rider, Shri Ram, my brother-in-law and a strong, dependable partner in endurance cycling.
We plan to ride an average of 100 kilometres per day, moving through:
- Coastal flats along Sri Lanka’s shoreline.
- Lively towns and rural roads
This will be a self-supported ride – no crew, no support vehicles, just two cyclists, and the road ahead.
The approach is simple: steady pedalling, unhurried breaks, and time to connect with the people and stories of Sri Lanka.
Key Ride Figures

Why This Ride Is Special
Since the inception of Limits & Beyond project in May 2023, I have circumnavigated India on pedal bike. Cycling 15,000 kilometres across 22 states of my country taught me resilience, patience, and the rhythm of long days on the saddle. The same spirit of endurance cycling is now crossing the water, taking on new challenges in a known/knowingly/popular yet an unfamiliar country.
This ride is not about speed or records. It’s about living, exploring and, experiencing its landscapes, and creating a human, unfiltered account of the journey. It may be a quest to find the purpose of life.
Documenting the Journey
The Sri Lanka cycling series will be released in short video episodes after each stage. Expect raw phone footage, authentic road moments, and a real sense of what it’s like to ride through unpredictable weather and costal terrain.

The full documentary will be released in September 2025.
Follow the ride. Be part of the journey.
