Upon descending to C3, I noticed a quiet satisfaction in Temba. He ordered me to sit and unbuckled my crampons. I refused, but he insisted, “dude! you deserve it”. That was “the moment of my life” where I felt happier as equally as when I was on the summit. Manaslu’s spirit made our friendship stronger. Temba Bhote, this Sherpa taught me to tread lightly and gently.Even in the harshest conditions, his calm strength and humble leadership shine through. I hope I get to share many more summits with him.
